My name is Michelle, and I will be sharing my life journey with you in terms of all things nursing, fitness, and lifestyle.
Unfortunately, my life journey of being a new-grad nurse and beginning my career as a BSN was pushed back approximately six months. I did not pass my last semester of nursing school, and am due to repeat the course during the upcoming Fall 2017 semester. This was not part of the plan.
Discovering I did not pass the course stung tremendously, especially when I had to watch all of my classmates from the past 2+ years pass, graduate, pass NCLEX, and land awesome jobs all over the state. However, I have to keep reminding myself that this is not the end, it is only the beginning and perhaps I am supposed to learn a much deeper lesson this time around than I was able to learn the first.
If I'm being honest, a big contribution to my failing my last course was due to my dedication to a (now ex) boyfriend. I did not put in the work that was required to pass the course the first time. So, with this remediation looming it's head, I am dedicated to remaining single until my graduation in December.
Let's see how that goes......
Also, as just a fun fact, this is my first nursing class failure. My program accepts two.
In an attempt to keep myself busy for the next two months I have before class starts, I have decided to jump ahead in my life. I always had this plan of starting a blog - and possibly a YouTube channel - documenting my life as a new graduate nurse (All while maintaining proper HIPPA protocols, of course). Although I have a few months left until that dream FINALLY becomes a reality to me, I decided that I should just begin my online story sharing now. There's really no need to wait. I already know what will be ahead of me for the upcoming semester, someone who discovers this blog might be interested in the details of a final semester nursing student, and all of these early posts serve as practice and experience.
If it's one lesson I am telling myself I will learn this upcoming fall semester: The more experience you get, the better.
I hope that you come along my journey through my LAST semester of nursing school, and through my transition of becoming an actual nurse. I plan on creating content that revolves around my life, interests and experiences - so there will be plenty to talk about.
Have a lovely day,
Michelle.
